Goat Funded Trader Introduces Account Reset Feature Across All Prop Trading Stages

Goat Funded Trader (GFT) has announced a new feature aimed at giving traders a second chance after unsuccessful trading attempts, introducing Account Resets for evaluation and funded accounts.

The prop trading firm says the feature allows eligible traders to reset their accounts without having to restart the entire evaluation process from the beginning.

According to GFT, the update applies to Phase 1, Phase 2, and Funded Accounts, offering traders greater flexibility after setbacks.

What Is the GFT Account Reset?

The new Account Reset feature enables traders to restart their current stage instead of purchasing a new challenge or repeating earlier phases.

Under the new system:

  • Traders who fail Phase 1 can reset and begin Phase 1 again.
  • Traders who pass Phase 1 but fail Phase 2 can reset Phase 2 without returning to Phase 1.
  • Traders who lose their Funded Account after breaching trading rules or exceeding drawdown limits may be able to reset their funded account instead of starting the evaluation process from scratch.

The feature is designed to help traders recover from isolated mistakes while preserving the progress they have already earned.

How the Reset Works

GFT highlighted several examples of how traders can benefit from the new system.

Phase 1 Reset

If a trader fails the first evaluation stage, they can purchase or activate a reset and restart Phase 1 without opening an entirely new challenge account.

Phase 2 Reset

Traders who successfully complete Phase 1 but later fail Phase 2 no longer need to repeat the first stage.

Instead, they can reset Phase 2 and continue from where they left off.

Funded Account Reset

One of the most notable additions is the ability to reset a Funded Account.

For traders who performed consistently but later exceeded the firm’s drawdown limits or violated account rules, the reset option provides an opportunity to regain funded status without repeating the evaluation process.

Reducing the Cost of Starting Over

Traditionally, many proprietary trading firms require traders who fail an evaluation or funded account to purchase a completely new challenge and begin again from the first phase.

GFT’s Account Reset feature seeks to reduce both the financial and psychological impact of a single unsuccessful trading period by allowing traders to resume from their current stage rather than losing all previous progress.

The company summarized the concept with the message:

“No more starting from zero. No more losing months of progress over one bad week.”

What Traders Should Know

While the new reset feature offers additional flexibility, traders should carefully review GFT’s official terms and conditions before using it.

Key details to understand include:

  • Eligibility requirements for resets
  • Any associated reset fees
  • Limits on the number of resets permitted
  • Trading rules after a reset
  • Drawdown and risk management requirements
  • Conditions for funded account reinstatement

These details are available through GFT’s Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

Industry Innovation

Account reset options have become increasingly popular in the proprietary trading industry as firms look for ways to improve trader retention and provide greater flexibility.

By extending reset functionality to Phase 1, Phase 2, and Funded Accounts, GFT is introducing a feature that may appeal to traders seeking a less punitive evaluation model while still maintaining structured risk management.

GFT’s new Account Reset feature represents a significant addition to its proprietary trading program, allowing eligible traders to continue from their current stage after a setback instead of restarting the entire process.

For traders, the feature could reduce both the cost and time involved in recovering from a failed evaluation or funded account. However, as with any prop firm offering, it is important to review the official rules, reset conditions, and eligibility requirements before relying on the feature as part of your trading plan.
